Training Tuesday

Training update!
* I’m going to put in extra effort to update my blog at least once a week with training updates since I have a crap ton of exciting races coming up. However, I’m still me and will probably still forget to blog. 
I just finished week 4 of training for the Ventura marathon in which I will be running their half marathon. It was definitely a struggle with the heat. It’s hard to accept slower times in the summer especially when you feel as if you ended spring so strong. But, I must learn to trust the process. I’m still under the guidance of fellow BibRave Pro Jen S. and I’m still couldn’t be happier. I’m starting to see progress in my runs and I’m completing temp runs and fartleks with what seems to be like less effort. Again, these small victories in my speed workouts give me hope for the fall/winter.

Weekly summary:

Monday- Yoga! (There’s an app for that lol)

Tuesday- 4 mile run, 2 at HM pace

Wednesday- easy three

Thursday- Track city with with a combo of 1/2 and 1/4 repeats

Friday-rest

Saturday- long run delayed due to triathlon shutting down roads

Sunday- drive the struggle bus for eight miles.

Also, I’ve been experimenting with new nutrition to try and figure out what works best for me. Because after Ventura, I will be jumping right back into training for the… DALLAS MARATHON. 
I know I swore I wouldn’t do it again, but I still have this empty feeling that I was cheated of a true marathon experience. Not because of my personal time, which was under goal but I finished and not in last place either, but it didn’t have the same vibe that I expected from a marathon.
