Let’s be summer is hard. It’s hot, it’s hot, there’s parties, BBQs, vacations, everything. Add in the fact that we spend winter and spring working on our “summer bodies” and we are just ready to let loose on some good food and a great happy hour. But unfortunately, that isn’t always the best option.
In the pass couple of months I’ve been trying to implement a smoothie a day as a meal replacement to help keep the calories and carbs down. Because of this I was excited to check out Bob’s Red Mill’s protein powders (Nutritional Boosters). I was already familiar with the brand from their line of alternative flours for those who cannot have gluten in their diets.

I received four flavors, your standard chocolate and vanilla, as well as a chai flavored one and a protein and fiber blend. The Chai, the chai, is a favorite, it just smells like a blanket and a pillow. I personally like to mix this one, and all of the powders with almond milk or coconut milk to make it even creamier and delicious treat.

The nutritional facts on this protein is just beyond amazing, finding a protein powder with 20g of protein that actually tastes good is rare. 

Since I’m beyond lazy and dislike pulling out the blender, I found adding the almond milk made it the perfect amount of creamy for me to make it simulate a true protein “milk” shake.
