It’s no secret… I LOVE my compression gear. They hold everything in place and just make you feel like an official runner. Normally I’m a compression sock wearer, and don’t do sleeves, so I was excited to try out the 2xu Performance Run sleeves.
- Increase circulation for recovery
- Reduce fatigue
- Reduce muscle soreness
- Increase power output
And this is why I wear them for all my long runs, and for recovery after a speed workout.
When ordering the sleeves make sure you measure your calf. The 2xu website has a sizing chart that will help you to narrow down the proper size. This is where I think I failed. I guesstimated and probably got too small of a size. With that being said, they were a struggle to get on, but they felt fantastic and my calves didn’t get the usual muscle tightness at the beginning of the run like I am used to.
However, since I may have sizes wrong, if I had these sleeves on for two long they became very itchy and uncomfortable for me. Here again, this could be just me and I have had the problem with any type of compression sock/sleeve after wearing for an extended period of time.
Lastly… They just look cool, and they work. Especially when paired with the VECTR sock.
- Moisture wicking
- Arch compression
- Cushioned heel and ball of the foot area
The VECTR sock delivers in all of these areas including a signature x lock support system, ergonomic fit, and anti-blister features. In addition they are no-show which also ranks high on my list.
These are hands down the most comfortable socks I’ve ever worn. They fit well and my feet really do stay dry. Also, the tab in the back helps to reduce any friction on the back of my ankle from my shoe.
These two items paired together are a deadly combination. They get the job done, they’re great for running and even better for recovering. I personally used them for pre-race when I knew I was going to be on the transit system for a while, and doing a ton of walking. I trusted this brand to keep my legs ready for a weekend of 16.2 miles… And they delivered.
